By Kaedon Commodore (11u Player), 04/21/18, 10:00AM EDT

GAME 1 4/7/18 at 1pm
PHD 41
CT Rebound 11

As PHD demolished CT Rebound by 30 points, there were some key plays and players. In the first half of the game, it was tight. Both teams went head to head. Later in the first half PHD started to pull away from CT Rebound. Down low in the paint, Raheem, Will, and Kaelon had some key defensive and rebounding plays. Raheem bodied his way through the Rebound getting wide open layups. When PHD got the ball, there was no stopping their fast break! The agile duo on the top of the key of PHD’s 2-3 zone, known as Cameron and Richard, had kept picking off the opponent’s telegraphed passes and had a masterful fast break.  Cameron, Kaelon, and Mac had some on-point passing, each of them had multiple assists. Charlie had a great three-point shooting day. He got to a wing and then drained it! This was a stellar game for PHD.

GAME 2 4/7/18 @ 3pm
PHD 46
Next Gen 23

PHD got to a quick start. While Next Generation struggled to find the net, PHD was on fire. Richard was hot from the corner! They struggled a little from the wing despite great passing from Kaelon.  Later on Cameron drove for layups and shot from the wings with success. Raheem grabbed rebounds and powered down the court for multiple end to end basket. Charlie had a nasty pump fake from three-point range which got him to the foul line. Will, Kaelon and Richard spaced the court nicely throughout the game for PHD’s offensive attach . Mac was a pest looking for steals against their guards. After all they eliminated Next Generation by 23 points. Now they were 2-0 ( 2-0 is their win-loss record.) heading to the championship game against the undefeated CT Knights.

GAME 3: Championship Game4/8 @ 10am
PHD 44
CT Knights 40

PHD versus the CT Knights. What a game! PHD went on a 8-0 run the first couple minutes. Richard and Cameron had great three-point shooting. Charlie made a couple three’s. Kaelon was a maniac with the rebounds and the steals. Will had a terrific game, making almost every layup! In the second half everybody in the gym got worried as the Knights 2-3 Zone and 3-2 zone completely shut down PHD offensive attach.  The Knights came back cutting the deficit to six, then to four, and finally to 3 points.  PHD’s top of the 2-3 zone gave up too many shots.  Toward end of game Richard, Kaelon and Raheem had a couple key steals, baskets rebounds and hustle plays to seal the game. Raheem and Will were beasts on the glass. PHD were crowned champs with only seven players who worked their butts off. They claimed their spot in Zero Gravity National Finals in Boston in June.  PHD 11u is Finals Qualified
