Drew was a 3 sport varsity athlete at Fairfield High School from his sophomore year on. He was recruited by some Division 2 & 3 schools to play both baseball and basketball. In the fall of his senior year he was offered a scholarship to play baseball at Iona College , Division 1, as a pitcher. At the age of 22 he started his coaching career as the assistant baseball coach at Greens Farms Academy and freshman basketball coach at Fairfield Prep. He coached at Fairfield Prep for 6 years and 3 years as the Assistant Varsity Coach at Fairfield Warde High School.
Eight years ago Drew started the PHD Program with Jay Conway. Over his eight years he has coached all different age groups in 2015 he Won both the 12u and 14u CT State Championships, while also taking his 14u to Virginia for Division 3 Nationals where they finished 5th. In 2016, his 15u Team traveled to Memphis, TN where they finished in the Top 10 D2 Nationally. This upcoming season he will be coaching the 12u National Team.
Drew came up through the Wakeman Boys and Girls Club Programs and worked 3 years as a program director.Before Wakeman, Drew ran an after school cooking and sports program in Bridgeport at the Burroughs Community Center. Drew is now working as the Assistant Director at the Cardianl Shehan Center in Bridgeport, CT.
Jay attended Christian Brothers Academy a top 20 class A New York State high school basketball team. He was the second leading scorer his junior season. After a back injury his senior season he went on to Worcester Academy for a fifth year as a graduate student. He led Worcester Academy in scoring for that season.
After his one year stint at Worcester he went on to play college basketball at New York University . He was a key player off the bench from game one. Half way through his freshman year he was placed in the starting lineup where he was until he graduated. Jay set an NCAA record for three point shots in a row with 11. Jay's senior year he was named MVP of NYU's basketball team. By the end of his career he accumulated over 1200 points.
Carl has been coaching in the PHD Program for three years. During his tenure he has finished in 2nd Place in both 2015 and 2016 at the National Tournament.
Carl has a tremendous way of getting his players to play at a high level while also instilling life lessons in them.
Many of his past players are currently playing at the next level at good academic schools.
Vinny played at the University of New Haven and Western Connecticut University where he currently holds the single season assist record. (1978). In 1980 he began as an assistant coach at Housatonic Community College where they were New England Champs in 1981 and 1982. Vinny has also coaches at the University of Bridgeport and Fairfield University
At the high school level he has been a head coach at Bullard Havens Tech, Stratford High School, Norwalk High School, Trumbull Girls, and is now currently the Head Coach at Notre Dame-Fairfield.

Joe attended Fairfield Warde High School where he was a varsity player for 3 seasons. He played a great role as a leader to the team whether it was on or off the court. Throughout his career he was a sponge absorbing all the things the staff was teaching the players. When he was not in the game he was adding great insite to both the staff and team.
Since graduating Joe attends Fairfield University and spends his free time�volunteering as a coach�on the Fairfield Warde Staff. He has aspirations of becoming a high school coach, if not college. He has also spent the last two years working at various summer camps in the area. Coach Black has been coaching for the PHD Program for the last two years.
Kevin attended and played high school basketball at St. Joe's High School in Trumbull, CT. After his graduation at St. Joe's, Kevin went to attend Nichols College where he played 4 years of basketball. His senior year he was nominated by his to coach to be a captain of the basketball team.
Kevin started his coaching career at Westbrook High School where he worked as the Head JV and Assistant Varsity basketball coach for three seasons. After coaching at Westbrook he moved to Notre Dame of Fairfield High School where he held the same positions for 3 seasons.
Six seasons of coaching high school basketbal gave Kevin an opportunity to become the Head Assistant Coach at Albertus Magnus College in Connecticut. In 2010, the Falcons moved from the bottom of the division to conference champions. They went to the Division 3 NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.
Kevin has been at Albertus Magnus for 3 seasons and is currently still with the Falcons.
Joe attended Eastern Connecticut State University where he earned a History and Social Science Degree. He moved on to Sacred Heart University where he earned a Masters in Education. He is currently teaching 6th and 7th grade students in Social Studies at Madison Middle School in Trumbull, CT
Joe started his coaching career at Windham High School in Willimantic, CT as the Varsity Assistant for 3 season. For the past 7 seasons he has been the Junior Varsity Coach at Foran High School in Milford.
Joe is married to Pam and four months ago added the newest member of the family Payton.
Orlando played his high school basketball at Kolbe Cathedral where he won a SWC Championship in 2006 and was apart of the 2007 team that posted a 23-2 record that season. After graduating from Kolbe, he attended Mercy College where he served as the team captain during his junior and senior campaigns and still holds the record for assist in one half (9 vs University of Bridgeport). After obtaining his bachelor degree in Business Management in 2011, Orlando did a graduate assistant-ship at Mercy as well. Orlando started his coaching career in 2012 at Harding High School as the head JV Coach and assistant varsity, where he still currently coaches.
After his first campaign last spring as a 15U PHD coach, Orlando's team won 5 tournaments, finished in the top 8 at the Gym Rat Challenge, a top nationally known tournament and finish #5 in the nation at Division 2 Nationals in Memphis, Tennessee.
Orlando is currently an academic advisor at Bassick High School where he has been for the last four years.
Matt played his high school basketball at Spring Valley High School in Spring Valley, NY. There he was a 3 year varsity starter earing the role of Captain his senior year. Despite considering playing in college Matt decided to pursue his other aspirations in college.
Matt graduated with a diploma in Special Education and now teaches in the Trumbull Public School System. Matt teaches at Madison Middle School in Trumbull. He has been the Assistant Varsity Coach at Trumbull High School for the past 7 seasons.
Once Matt ends his day he returns home to his wife Emily and two children Katelyn and Tyler.
John has been coaching for 20 years at different levels. He has coached 3 years for Joel Barlow high school as the Head Junior Varsity and Assistant Varsity Coach. He then moved on Trumbull High School to be the Freshman Coach for 3 years. He is currently the Head Coach at Madison Middle School where he is in his 14th Season.
John played was a four year varsity player, two year starter for Weston High School (1983-1987). During his senior season he earned First Team All League and Connecticut Post Honorable Mention. After High School he attended Ithaca College and play one year of basketball and 2 years lightweight Crew.
DJ played high school basketball at both St. Joseph High School (Trumbull) and Kolbe Cathedral High School (Bridgeport). During his time at Kolbe they were ranked in the Top 5 in the state. During his senior year they lost in both the SWC and State Championships.
He then went on to play at Gateway Community College for one year where they were ranked #10 Nationally.
DJ has worked for the past 5 years at the Cardinal Shehan Center in Bridgeport. He also works as a personal trainer for athletes, many of which are currently playing Division 1 sports. He has been a PHD Coach for the past two years.
Jeremy played high school basketball locally at Bassick High School in Bridgeport, CT. In the offseason he played for various AAU Programs where he won a National Title with his 15u age group.

He is currently the Freshman Basketball Coach at Warren Harding High School
Ryan attended and played high school basketball at Foran High School in Milford, CT. After his graduation at Foran, Ryan went to the University of Connecticut where he walked on to the Huskies basketball team. He played 3 years for Jim Calhoun and won a National Championship in 2004.
Ryan started his coaching career at Foran High School where he worked as the Freshman Coach under his brother Tim Swaller. He then joined the Fairfield Warde Mustangs in 2009-2010 season as an Assistant Varsity Coach. He is in his second year as the head coach of the Mustangs.
Ryan is currently a fifth grade teach at Mill Hill in Southport. He has been teaching fifth grade for the past 4 years.
A four year varsity basketball player at St.Joseph High School ( Co-captain senior year), went on to be recruited by a few Division 2 & 3 schools. In fall of 2010 decided to go to St.Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, Ny. He played four years of collegiate basketball at the Division 2 level. While at STAC he was also a Resident Advisor for his Junior and Senior years at the school. Sam would graduate from STAC in 2014 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and minor in Accounting.
Started his coaching career for the girls basketball team at Harding High School in the winter season of 2014-2015, where he served as Jv coach and Assistant Varsity coach. Now Sam is the head freshman coach at Darien High School, while he is also apart of the IAABO board nine for officials.
